Courtney Breen
Medical Assistant (RMA)/Medical Scribe


Courtney was raised in MN, NM, CO, OH, and NC. She graduated from NC State with a degree in International Studies and minors in Anthropology, Biology, Political Science, and Spanish. She also studied abroad in Peru.


She enjoys rock climbing, backpacking out West, reading historical fiction, baking and playing with her two Saint Bernard's. She is currently getting her Masters in Physiology from NC State. She hopes to pursue emergency medicine and specialize in wilderness medicine.

Brooke Champion, PA
Provider


Brooke was born in Raleigh, NC and raised in Youngsville, NC. She went to Franklinton High School, and later graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Nutrition Science. During her college career, she joined the practice as an office assistant and medical scribe. She developed a passion for medicine while working here at North Raleigh Family Medicine, and while traveling abroad in college to Ecuador for a medical brigade. 

She then went on to East Carolina University and obtained her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and is now a certified Physician Assistant. 

She started her career in urgent care, but is glad to have transitioned into family medicine and rejoin our practice! She enjoys helping patients of all ages, and enjoys managing a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. 

Brooke is married, and now lives with her husband, Seth, in Franklinton, NC. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family. 

Thomas L Jeffries, M.D. 

Provider


Dr. Jeffries was born in Durham and has lived most of his life in North Carolina. He graduated from Garner High School and Duke University with a B.S. in Psychology. He then had the privilege to spend a summer working in Europe and then went into the Peace Corps in Congo DRC where he lived "in paradise" for two years. Upon his return he continued his education and graduated from UNC-CH School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Practice through the University of Virginia in Lynchburg. 

Dr. Jeffries returned to Raleigh and practiced at a community health center for two years. For eight years he worked as an Emergency Room physician. In 2000, Dr. Jeffries opened his private family medicine practice. During the next 5 years the practice grew and the office became the home for reasonable and caring healthcare in North Raleigh. He became a preceptor for UNC-CH's nursing school and mentors master nursing students at his practice. In 2011 Dr. Jeffries became a member of the NC -1 DMAT team as a member of a federal rapid response emergency medical team. Also in 2011 he became an adjunct instructor for the UNC School of Medicine.

Dr Jeffries is board certified in Family Medicine and Holistic Medicine. He has training and experience as a traditional allopathic physician but also in natural and unconventional medicine. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and with many types of conditions. Dr. Jeffries especially enjoys teaching patients to become more focused and in control of their health.

Dr. Jeffries lives in North Raleigh with his wife, Glenda. They have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family, his collies, and being outdoors hiking, observing nature, swimming, biking and trail running.

Dr. Jeffries lived in Africa for 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also in the last 10 years he has been on Medical Mission trips to Zimbabwe, Bolivia, Mexico, Belize, Haiti and the Democratic Republic of The Congo.

Robin Whitaker
Medical Assistant (RMA)


Robin was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her family and she recently moved to Raleigh a year and a half ago. She really loves the sweet southern hospitality! She has worked in the medical field for 25 years, throughout this time she has always loved working with patients and their families. 


She enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends!

Frances Tabron

Office Manager and Medical Assistant (CMA)


Frances is a lifetime resident of Franklin County where she resides with her 3 children. She enjoys reading and time spent with her husband and children. 


She graduated from Vance Granville Community College in 2002 with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting. Her daily rule of thumb is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

Rebecca J Cloer, FNP

Provider


Rebecca was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated from East Carolina University Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2012. She started her nursing career in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Duke University.


Two years later she transferred to the Special Care Nursery at WakeMed North where she loved going to deliveries and taking care of newborn babies for 3.5 years. She couldn't be more excited to follow in the footsteps of her parents and begin working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at North Raleigh Family Medicine! Her hobbies include exercising, traveling, and going on hikes with her husband, son, and golden retriever! 


Kathleen Kubas 

Receptionist


Kathleen was born and raised in Long Island, New York.   She then moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA, where she lived for the next 12 years.  In 2006 Kathleen moved to North Raleigh with her two sons. 

She has worked in the medical field for 20+ years and joined the staff at North Raleigh Family Medicine in June of 2011.  Kathleen enjoys working with patients and tries to help them resolve any problems.

She also enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and relaxing on the beach.
