Thomas L Jeffries, M.D.
Dr. Jeffries was born in Durham and has lived most of
his life in North Carolina. He graduated from Garner High School and Duke
University with a B.S. in Psychology. He then had the privilege to spend a
summer working in Europe and then went into the Peace Corps in Zaire where
he lived "in paradise" for two years. Upon his return he continued his
education and graduated from UNC-CH School of Medicine. He completed his
residency in Family Practice through the University of Virginia in
Lynchburg.
Dr. Jeffries returned to Raleigh and
practiced at a community health center for two years. For eight years he
worked as an Emergency Room physician. In 2000, Dr. Jeffries opened his
private family medicine practice. During the next 5 years the practice
grew and the office became the home for reasonable and caring healthcare
in North Raleigh. He became a preceptor for UNC-CH's nursing school and
mentors master nursing students at his practice. In addition, Dr Jeffries
serves as the Medical Advisor for the medical assisting program at Wake
Tech Community College in Raleigh.
Dr Jeffries is board certified in
Family Medicine and Holistic Medicine. He has training and experience as a
traditional allopathic physician but also in natural and unconventional
medicine. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and with many types of
conditions. Dr. Jeffries especially enjoys teaching patients to become
more focused and in control of their health.
Dr. Jeffries lives in North Raleigh
with his wife, Glenda and their children. Also, his adult daughter lives
in Raleigh with her husband and twin boys. He enjoys spending time with
his family, his collies, and being outdoors hiking, observing nature,
swimming, biking and trail running.
Glenda M. Jeffries,
FNP
Glenda became certified as a nurse
practitioner in 2010 upon graduating from UNC with a naster's degree in
nursing. She has enjoyed working as an RN for 23 years and helped to found
North Raleigh Family Medicine in 2000. She has worked here as a nurse,
office manager, bookkeeper, and phlebotomist. During a medical mission
trip to Bolivia in 2008 she became inspired to do more than just "triage
patients." She wanted to learn how to diagnose and treat their ailments.
Hence she enrolled in the UNC's graduate school.
We are glad to have Glenda's help
and guidance. She lives in North Raleigh with her husband - Dr Jeffries,
and enjoys being a mother and Grandmother.
